Transition Year
Transition Year was introduced in the school in the academic year 2007/2008 with one class group.
Since then, Transition Year has gone from strength to strength and now there are three class groups of Transition Year. This is an optional year for students. More information about taking part in Transition Year can be obtained by contacting the school.
The Transition Year Programme offered in the school covers both core subjects such as Gaeilge, English, Maths, French/German and additional subjects such as Music, Art, Home Economics, and Science. Additional subjects specific to Transition Year are also built into the timetable like Toastmasters and Preparation for the World of Work.
All students decide and work towards personal goals. They also take part in self organised work experience for two weeks at the beginning of December. Students work on a personal Portfolio throughout the year and present their work at the end of the year.
